Scottish Water are looking to recruit a Waste Services Scheduler to join the Waste Services Transport Scheduling Team.

Working closely with wider Operational teams, you'll be responsible for delivering an effective and efficient service with high levels of customer satisfaction.

Working as a Waste Services Scheduler you will report to the Transport Planning Team Leader.

The role holder will work with teams across the business that rely on Transport Logistics to deliver their own operational objectives.

In addition, the role holder will be responsible for the delivery of a septic tank service to domestic and commercial customers in which customer service excellence is paramount.


About the Role:


The main purpose of the role is schedule tanker services which within a geographic area whilst delivering first class customer service to our internal and external customers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, ambitious front-line operational team within Wastewater Operations.


The role holder is responsible understanding tanker service requirements within a geographic area, while providing an outstanding service to all our customers through communication.

The role holder is responsible for data management and for the management of the systems used to deliver our service.

Customer service is a key consideration of this role and delivery of a first-class customer journey should be at the forefront of the role holder's mind.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Service delivery that meets all internal and external customer requirements.
  • Planning and scheduling of Waste Services workload across our tanker fleet.
  • Communicating with external customers, understanding their needs, managing their expectations, and ensuring excellent service delivery throughout their journey.
  • Liaise with internal operational team leaders to understand their demand requirements, build relationships with local operational teams to maintain an effective & efficient service.
  • Coordination of contractors
  • Data management and maintenance

Essential Skills and Experience Required:


Full training will be provided however we are looking for you to have the ability to ensure your work is delivered professionally, efficiently and on time.

The successful applicant would need to be reliable and enthusiastic, have a positive 'can-do' attitude and be able to work as part of a team.

We are looking for someone who has great data and excel skills along with excellent communication and customer service.- Confident in planning and prioritising your work whilst maintaining a flexible approach to accommodate changing priorities.- Display excellent customer service experience, liaising with a wide range of internal and external customers.- Be able to build trust and credibility with customers who you interact with, acting as an ambassador for Scottish Water.- Be a strong team player, who can work well with others to achieve common goals and have a willingness to learn from others.- Be digitally skilled in a range of software packages.
