Logistics and Shipping Executive


A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for a well-regarded and successful company in the role of UK logistic Distribution in Bulk Spirits and Ethanol.


Working in the logistics and Operations department the Logistics and Shipping Executive will be responsible for a range of customers and geographic zones.

They will report daily to the Senior shipping manager.

The ideal Logistics and Shipping Executive should be candid and motivated with excellent Excel and communication skills.
5 years previous experience in Deep Sea shipping is highly advantageous.

Logistics and Shipping Executive Main Responsibilities:

Working in shipping files that cover: UK, EU and international shipping

Process PO's and SO's by agreed times - flag in advance if there are problems

Ensure that all orders are received and entered in our ERP system in a timely fashion based on an agreed order receipt profile with 100% accuracy of order entry

Ensure that for all your filles all the shipping documents are raised as set out in the SO

Track all your open and pending orders (eg by trucks and deep sea) from start to finish with a complete customer focus and 'zero' costs basis for delay, demurrage, customs delays etc

Regular contact with Freight forwarder/haulier/ shipping agents and if requested to get freight rates, get the best rates

Liaise with Freight forwarders to correct shipping documents such as COO, BOL, etc

Co-ordinated all your loadings with suppliers or warehouses; custom clear goods to ensure that all your orders arrive with customers on time and trouble free at destination

Maintain stock sheets and inventory control in our warehouses and report ROP as needed and instructed by Senior Shipping Manager

Ensure that all export/import documentation is accurately issued according to country of destination regulatory requirements and customers instructions.

Liaise internally with Sales Managers on your files and advise them of any problems, delays or issues

  • Ensure orders are received and entered in system in a timely fashion based on an agreed order receipt profile with 100% accuracy of order entry
  • Track the orders (trucks and deep sea) from start to finish with a complete customer focus
  • Be key contact with Freight forwarder/haulier and coordination with customs agent to ensure orders are exported/imported in timely manner
  • Process POs by agreed times flag in advance if there are problems
  • Timely dispatch of sales invoices to ensure continued cashflow
  • Ensure correct set of export/import documentation is accurately issued according to country of destination regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with various stakeholders to complete transit/transport formalities to ensure export of goods run smoothly
  • Liaise with Freight forwarders to complete shipping documents such as COO, BOL, etc
  • Support with preparation of annual audit of custom brokers for trade compliance
  • Weekly /monthly reporting on orders status, ensure exports timelines are met
  • Good organisational skills/multitasking
  • High attention to detail
  • Confidence and communication skills that inspires trust in colleagues and customers alike.
  • Shows initiative, has a "can do" attitude and remains calm under pressure
  • Ability to focus on multiple tasks at the same time
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of UK bonded warehouse processes desired
  • Previous experience in the beverage sector / ADR goods is a benefit but not essential
  • Professional attitude when dealing with customers and passionate about customer service
  • Ability to work well independently and within small teams
  • Ideally University level degree

Salary:
£35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
