About the role


Within Digital, the COO (Chief Operating Officer) team plays a critical role in driving the Digital transformation: we set and implement the overall BT Digital strategy and plans and we are the engine room driving the outcomes required for our customers.

We work across multiple customer units (e.g., Consumer, Enterprise, Global divisions) covering needed updates to products, customer journeys, platforms, 3rd parties, strategic partners, IT architecture and innovation.

Digital has a large number of interconnected initiatives that will deliver strategic outcomes for BT and its customers.

These initiatives are in play across a number of different units within Digital, with links to every part of BT.

In parallel, we are moving all of Digital into full-scale Agile ways of working.

It's a complex, interconnected show to keep on the road, and this job matters because you will be part of the team that makes sure that it does.

You will work with your colleagues in the PMO team to bring together a complete overview of all of Digital's strategic plans, their dependencies, and their link to value creation and Digital's North Star Goals.

You'll be working with our CFUs and CUs to integrate product and process changes with Digital's plans.

Equipped with this BT-wide understanding, you will be able to guide teams to make better decisions, and work directly with senior management teams across BT to ensure their support.


You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Sharing your knowledge by conducting training courses for Atlassian tool users or administrators
  • Developing tools and technical solutions yourself that map our customers' endtoend processes
  • Using your knowledge of other tools such as Jira Service Desk, Jira Align, and reporting plugins
  • Consulting with key stakeholders on tooling capability and process/automation options, this role will recommend tooling solutions that are fit for purpose to support the business requirements
  • Influencing the processes that underpin the way the Transformation are delivered and reported to CEO / CO
  • Leading the endtoend tooling solution for managing demand interlocks with other units
  • Ensure that technical dependencies across areas within domain are identifies and resolved/tracked so that delivery is not put in jeopardy
  • Coordination across multiple teams to deliver the DDA initiatives though technical releases to support quarterly Business Goals
  • Support tribe lead and squad leadership in the shaping and prioritisation of the backlog in readiness for program increments
  • Support the delivery of Agile best practices; leading regular retrospective and continuous improvement activities to create high performing squads focused on customer centricity and value
  • Support agile maturity assessment of squads and help them improve

You'll have the following skills & experience

What you'll need:


  • Sound Tools Knowledge JIRA, reporting, dashboards etc. and be able to drive improvement with best practices
  • Sound knowledge of Change management processes
  • Demonstrable and proven delivery management skills with a track record of successful deliveries.
  • Stakeholder Management: Able to establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships and facilitates mutually beneficial negotiations to develop solutions, ensuring they meet current and emerging business and technical needs.
  • To be Agile: Leads collaborative and agile ways of working through projects and programmes effectively managing changing priorities
  • Storytelling with data skill: building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
  • Transformation skills: Able to manage long term changes and adapting the unit in line with the business. Be able to transform delivery to improve and reduce cost and be confident in managing changes
  • Have experience in manipulating quantitative and qualitative data to create clear, simple narratives
  • Have experience in project management
  • Are skilled in agile and lean practices
  • Have been involved in technology projects with multiple dependencies
  • Have experience building and deliv
