We have a new opportunity available for a
Maths Tutor to join our team based in
Leicester.

You will join us on a
full-time, fixed term basis for approximately 9 months to cover maternity leaveand in return, you will receive a competitive salary of
£22,000-£34,000 per annum (FTE).

The Maths Tutor Role:

You will deliver a good quality of education to groups of students. You will deliver maths qualifications - Functional Skills and GCSE, in line with awarding body requirements.

You will also mark, assess and provide constructive feedback on students' work whilst contributing towards ensuring excellent student attendance & retention.


Key responsibilities as our Maths Tutor:

  • Provide excellent CEIAG and support (including SEND) to students
  • Safeguard the welfare of all students, preventing radicalisation and promoting British Values
  • Plan training to meet criteria and standards for maths qualifications (Functional Skills & GCSE), as well as the students' individual needs
  • Deliver engaging, effective and innovative group training sessions, so that students develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs)
  • Carry out initial assessment activities to identify individual needs, and develop Support Plans, to ensure that students are wellsupported and achieve their learning goals
  • Mark and assess students' work, providing constructive feedback to develop their maths skills including, spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG)
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with laid down procedures to meet both contractual and internal requirements
  • Ensure that student attendance & retention targets are met, with absences robustly followed up

As our Maths Tutor you will need:

  • Level 2 English and Maths (minimum)
  • Level 3 Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards within 6 months)
  • The ability to persuade & influence others and deal with conflict/challenging behaviour
  • To have a sound understanding of student needs, barriers and effective interventions
  • To build rapport with target group and retain their attention during training sessions
  • To remain positive, with a bubbly, engaging personality
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Competent in use of IT
