We are looking for an assistant cook to work in our tradition local pub. Our menu is small but is prepared fresh from local producers. Specials menu which also rotates monthly.

Assistant will have to work alongside main chef but also work independently on the chefs days off.

Must be able to work workends.

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes or personal judgment, ensuring quality and consistency
• Assist in the planning and development of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and customer preferences
• Monitor food stock levels and place orders as needed to maintain inventory
• Ensure proper food storage and handling procedures are followed to maintain freshness and prevent contamination
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service
• Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines

• Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar setting
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
• Understanding of food safety practices and regulations
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
