Location:
The Nigel Doughty Academy Nottingham Forest Training Ground.


Reporting to the Executive Head Chef and Head Chef, this position will be responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen and storeroom areas, the cleaning of all cooking tools, utensils, crockery, cutlery and equipment and also to support kitchen staff by taking on minor food prep tasks.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitised.
  • Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and ending of shifts.
  • Be ready to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations.
  • Wash cookware, utensils and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation.
  • Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries.
  • Keep the food and supply storage areas organised.
  • Take out the garbage.
  • Help with routine food prep tasks (such as peeling and chopping vegetables) when needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience:


  • A fast learner with an interest in kitchen work.
  • The ability to stand for long hours.
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and a pressured environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant health & safety, food hygiene policies and a knowledge of COSHH is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
