Location and flexible working:

You can expect to work in a hybrid manner, with normally a minimum of 2 days a week working in the office and the rest working at home.

Salary and benefits:

circa £55,000 - £65,000 (dependent upon experience) plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Group Internal Audit team.

The role


Group Internal Audit has a clear 'One Team' strategy which focuses on empowerment and talent development and aims for a high performing team culture which delivers the right assurance insight at the right time.

This is enabled by a strong focus on creating influential trusted adviser relationships with senior stakeholders.


As a Senior Internal Auditor you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to Phoenix business, protect its customers, shareholders and colleagues, and influence at Executive and Board level with the work you deliver.

You will assess the landscape of risks, work with your team to devise audit strategies and execute end to end audits whilst owning the work and stakeholder relationships.

As well as core audit delivery you will help form macro opinions, keep our audit universe relevant, develop audit topics for the annual plan and can get involved in driving functional initiatives forward.

Your primary area assurance focus will operational risks; including corporate governance audits.

Essential

  • Confident stakeholder management, communication skills (both written and verbal English), able to build relationships and challenge the status quo at a senior level
  • Good attention to detail; strong analytical skills
  • Excellent planning, coordination and organisation skills, balancing audit delivery with external demands and managing multiple priorities and stakeholders. The ability to constantly adapt is useful.
  • Internal Audit, Risk Management or External Audit Experience
  • Recognised professional qualification (e.g. Internal Audit, Accounting, Risk management, etc.)
Desirable

  • Financial Services Experience
