MINIBUS DRIVER - Mid-Lin Day Care Limited provide a day care service for older people at Linlathen in Dundee to bring older people together for company, a nourishing three course lunch and a programme of activities according to the time of year.
Our day care service is provided for older people who enjoy the opportunity to meet with others and may need a little extra support to get out for the day.
The provision of the minibus service is an essential element of our day care service to support people with limited mobility to get to meet with others.

Purpose of the job:
To drive vehicles owned by Mid-Lin Day Care Limited and to ensure passenger safety at all times.
Responsible to:
Manager and Senior Support worker at Mid-Lin Day Care Limited
Salary:
£12.00/hour
Hours of work: 20 hours per week.
In order to support our Day Care service, the main duties are to pick up service users from their home and return them home.
The minibuses are parked in a secure yard at 59 Pitkerro Drive, Dundee DD4 8AT.
- For insurance purposes, they must be parked within this location every evening._
Key Responsibilities:
- To drive vehicles owned by Mid-Lin Day Care Limited during normal service operating hours;
- To assist service users from their pick up point, to the vehicle and from the vehicle to Mid-Lin Day care Limited and to have due consideration for the safety and comfort of the service users;
- To perform the prescribed daily vehicle and safety equipment checks and immediately record and report any defects which become apparent;
- To immediately report and record details of any accident or mishap, no matter how minor, and to secure witnesses to same.
- To ensure that Mid-Lin Day Care Limited policy and procedures are met in respect of:
- Vehicle and associated equipment checks
- Accident Procedures
- Breakdown Procedures
- Health & Safety Policy
- Driving Standards
- To inform either the Manager or Senior Support worker at Mid-Lin Day Care Limited immediately if they incur penalty points on their driving licence;
- To report any passenger comments or complaints;
- To undertake where necessary duties normally performed by other members of staff as identified by the Manager or Senior Support worker;
- To undergo any training as defined by Mid-Lin Day Care Limited Company Policy.
- A current driving licence with D1 and no more than 3 points, held for at least 2 years;
- Experience driving a large vehicle;
- Ability to undertake vehicle checks and carry out basic maintenance;
- A pleasant, patient and helpful personality;
- Ability to communicate with a range of different people;
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
- A flexible approach to working arrangements;
- Good organisational ability;
- Understanding of the needs of older people and how age may affect a person's mobility and confidence;
- A geographical knowledge of Dundee and surrounding area.
