Who we're looking for

A forward looking and adaptable mindset to join a newly developed team running our Physical Security Operations Centre (SOC), that has primary responsibility for the monitoring of regional offices, security threats and incidents and supports the global travel risk management programme.

Reporting to a SOC Lead Operator you will work a rotational 12hr shift pattern covering days, nights and weekends.

The team

We're part of Workplace Services, the team that provides facilities, estates management, utilities, sustainability reporting and drives emission reductions, travel management and physical security services internally to Schroders.

What you'll do

  • Emergency incident escalation, notification and support.
  • Regional office Electronic Access Control alarm monitoring, escalation and resolution, utilising video surveillance and local site support.
  • Regional security and facilities incident management, escalation and reporting.
  • Support the global travel risk management programme.
  • Intelligence collation and dissemination.
  • Compile and submit daily and other periodic reports.
  • Responsible for the initial investigation, reporting and escalation of equipment faults related to the security systems.
  • Compilation and maintenance of regional office information.
  • Assist in site commissioning and testing with the Access Control Administrator and onsite engineers, liaising with regional site contacts.
  • Support local office contacts through remote auditing of security processes (both emergency and physical site security).
  • Assist, as required, with any investigation concerning theft or damage on company premises.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • A strong background having previously worked in a SOC is essential, along with a good working knowledge of security and lifesafety systems.
  • Good knowledge of C-Cure 9000 and Victor Video Management.
  • Understanding of supporting access control and video surveillance devices.
  • Good understanding of alarm management and incident escalation processes.
  • Confidence in briefing senior management in times of incident.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Experience of Microsoft office suite.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

  • Report writing skills.
  • Good analytical skills relating to set processes.
  • Working knowledge of the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation requirements.
  • Familiarity with Travel Monitoring Services.
  • Non-English language skills are desirable but not essential.
