We are looking to hire a shop supervisor in our busy supermarket located in Manchester.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Recruit and Train new staff and conduct induction.
  • Lead the store when the owner is not available.
  • Assist in maximizing sales, achieving store sales goals and monitoring sales progress
  • To ensure effective stock management and stock control processes are carried out.
  • To maintain housekeeping, merchandise presentation, stock replenishment and ticketing standards to the highest level
  • To be responsible for the smooth running of the front of the shop
  • Ensures store shelves are fully stacked, including the rearranging of shelves, the setting up of displays and the cleaning of the store and products.
  • Ensures Customer service staff are trained in using the cash register.
  • Ensures money handling procedures are followed by all Customer service staff.
  • Take Payments from the customers and pack goods.
  • Set priorities and manage time effectively and efficiently.
  • Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties.
  • Ensuring store displays are attractive and neat.
  • Ensures that an accurate inventory record of finished goods is maintained.

Qualifications:

There is no formal qualifications are required. However, GCSE Level 3 or equivalent would be an advantage.

  • Sales management: Ability to drive sales and meet revenue goals
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a team
  • Supervising: Experience in supervising employees and managing their performance
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and staff
  • Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Phone etiquette: Professional phone manner when interacting with customers or clients
  • Team management: Experience in building and leading a cohesive team
  • Retail management: Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management and customer service
