Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our school community in Hackney, London.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for supporting children with special needs, to make a real differencein the life of a child with Autism in a reception class.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide onetoone support to a child with Autism in a reception class
  • Assist with educational and therapeutic activities that are tailored to the child's needs and abilities
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment for the child and their peers
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to provide the best possible support for the child
  • Maintain accurate records of the child's progress, wellbeing, and any relevant information to support their development
  • Assist with personal care as required, including toileting and feeding
  • Support the child in integrating with their peers and the wider school community
- £85-£95 per day


Requirements:


  • Experience working with children with Autism or similar special needs
  • A strong understanding of Autism, its impact on learning and development, and current best practices in supporting children with the condition
  • The ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, and to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • A proactive and solutionfocused approach, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the willingness to work as part of a team and go above and beyond to support the child's needs
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Teaching Assistant or Special Needs Support Worker certificate, is desirable but not essential
