**Purpose of the role
**Connected Places Catapult (CPC) is the UK's innovation accelerator for cities, transport, and places. We provide impartial 'innovation as a service' for public bodies, businesses, and infrastructure providers to catalyse step-change improvements in the way people live, work and travel. We connect businesses and public sector leaders to cutting-edge research to spark innovation and grow new markets. We run technology demonstrators and SME accelerators to scale novel solutions that drive growth, spread prosperity, and eliminate carbon.

CPC has a long history of collaboration with the Department for Transport to accelerate transport innovation and drive growth.

Our vision with DfT is to work in collaboration, utilising our collective expertise, knowledge, and resources to propel growth and establish the UK as a world leader in transport decarbonisation, resilience, equitable transport, and pioneering technologies.

Our aim is to create a transport system that is future-ready, ensuring that the UK stays ahead of the curve in the development and implementation of innovative technologies.

In your role you will be the lead for the work we do with the DfT.

This starts with aligning our strategies, setting the joint priorities for the next 5 years and agreeing a programme of work with the DfT ScITech team.

Whilst the role focused on DfT there is scope for looking at how CPC works across other government departments and understanding how we can replicate the full model we have with DfT into other departments.

The role requires the building of relationships across DfT's, and other, directorates to identify areas to accelerate innovation and growth.

You will also be responsible for ensuring our customers are delighted in their experience working with CPC, by managing the relationship with project sponsors and representing the voice of the customer within CPC to support continuous improvement.

You will drive customer feedback on projects and measure this as a KPI, and look to shape next phase opportunities that may come from the live projects.

You will be accountable for the of proposals, by working with bid managers, content owners and project planners, and delivering high-quality proposals to the customer.

It is expected that you maintain your data in the CRM system as track opportunities through in a timely manner to produce accurate forecasts, and drive actions as necessary to deliver against targets.

You will maintain a shared governance structure covering delivery and strategy; accurately forecast at an account level, with the support from finance; and ensure our ongoing contractual relationship with DfT, and other government departments as agreed.

Overall, this is a fascinating high-profile role, pivotal in accelerating improvements in transport decarbonisation, resilience and passenger experience through innovation and driving growth of UK companies both in UK and through exports.

You will work at the heart of government with key decision makers and help shape the future of UK transport.
