The Finance Directorate has received significant investment in order to ensure it is resourced appropriately to deliver a fit for purpose service to support the Trust on its improvement journey.

The Directorate provides a wide range of business support to the Trust including:

  • Performance & Contracting
  • Procurement
  • Financial Services
  • Financial Management
You will be a member of the Finance Department, contributing to the delivery of a high quality Financial service including:

  • To be responsible for the organisation of such meetings including administration, preparation and circulation of the agendas and supporting documentation.
- attend meetings to record minutes, notes and action required.
- undertake key projects on behalf of the Deputy Directors and Senior Management Team

The role will be based at Lincoln County Hospital with the option to Work from home/hybrid working.


As Assistant PA/ Secretarial Assistant you will provide a comprehensive, effective and confidential PA support to the Deputy Directors of Finance and their senior team using Trust systems to enable then to make the best use of their time.


The need for discretion and confidentiality is a given as is a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in the production of written correspondence, reports, tables and other documentation.


As an integral member of the team your ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the Trust and wider health community will be a key factor in your day to day working.


You will have the ability and confidence to act discreetly, using your own judgment and initiative when dealing with information of a private, confidential or sensitive nature.


You will highlight and monitor changing priorities throughout the day; keeping the Team updated, taking action where appropriate on own initiative within agreed parameters or on instruction, in order to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Directorate.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Full management of the Deputy Directors diaries, including scheduling meetings, arranging papers to be available, resolving diary clashes.
  • Organising meetings and conferences within the portfolio (using MS Teams and onsite /offsite facilities), which includes room bookings, production and distribution of paperwork, minuting of meetings, ordering catering and distribution of minutes. This includes regular meetings and ad hoc meetings as and when required.
  • Dealing with communications in order to ensure that priorities of the business are met and that the Directorate are informed of key issues of prominence promptly.
  • Typing up of correspondence, reports, tables and other documentation whilst ensuring it is in an accurately presented in ULHT format utilising available IT systems and software.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate up to date filing systems and databases, ensuring accurate electronic filing systems for the recording of private and confidential staff and patient information.
  • Acting as an information resource for the department. Act as key contact for the Senior Finance Team
  • A requirement for confidentiality is an express requirement of the role.
  • A requirement to work flexibly to meet the operational needs of the service and occasional travel to other ULHT sites.
  • Qualifications and experience commensurate with the role; Level GCSE Maths and English; NVQ 3 or CLAIT
  • Experience of working with Microsoft packages
