What is required of me as a Cover Supervisor?
The role of a Cover Supervisor is to predominately, supervise a classroom. There is no planning or preparation involved - you are not expected to teach.

The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, distribute the task set and ensure that students remain on task.

Do I need to be a qualified teacher to work as a Cover Supervisor?
No, you don't need to hold Qualified Teacher Status to work as a Cover Supervisor. There are no specific qualifications required, however previous experience teaching or working with children are preferred.

How much will I be paid?

Rate is always discussed and confirmed prior to any booking and is dependent on skillset, length of assignment and experience, however, will range between
£70 - £90 per day.

You possess a degree (desirable, but not essential)
You have excellent communication skills and can quickly form rapports.
You can use your initiative.
You have previous experience working with children between the ages of
You are confident in dealing with discipline issues in the correct way.

Specific responsibilities include:

Ensuring a constructive working environment
Ensuring pupils complete all set work.
Recording attendance in accordance with school policy
Following the school behavioural policy
Following all school safeguarding policies and procedures
