Working Hours:
up to 20 hrs per week/ Flexible or 6-7 hours per shift

The Youth Ministry Trust requires an Assistant Catering Coordinator to help our Catering coordinator deliver high catering standards and efficient operation in keeping with the mission and aims of the Emmaus Village residential retreat centre.

Responsibilities of Role

• Hands on daytoday cooking
• General duties providing a successful quality meal service
• Kitchen hygiene and compliance with HACCP and Health & Safety Standards
• Maintaining equipment and the working environment to ensure efficient operation
• Keeping up to date temperature / delivery / cleaning records
• Championing and upholding the Trust's values and ethos
• Excellent and innovative culinary skills and experience
• Enthusiastic and motivated to lead by example
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Trustworthy and able to work with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
• Dedication to great food, frontofhouse presentation and consistent high standards
• Passion to play a part in improving the life chances of young people

About the Youth Ministry Trust

The Youth Ministry Trust (YMT) is the Youth Service for the RC Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and is made up of full-time staff and gap-year volunteers based at the Emmaus Village in Consett.

YMT deliver overnight retreats for school students aged 10-18 and we explore ways of presenting the message of the Gospel in creative and age-appropriate ways.

Depending on group size, meals at the Emmaus Village can be up to 100 covers.

Through a range of activities last year, YMT reached nearly 16,000 young people - so life at the Emmaus Village is pretty busy Other groups, mainly adults, also make use of our facilities at weekends and school holiday times.

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
