- This role will be based in the DMO's office in the city of London.
Job summary:
This role covers a range of operational risk and control activities designed to identify and mitigate operational risk within the DMO and provide assurance that both existing operations and new initiatives are being carried out in accordance with good practice and in line with agreed policies and procedures.
One of the key responsibilities of the role is following up risk incidents to ensure that root causes are identified and mitigating actions are put in place to avoid a reoccurrence.
Job description:
- On occasions, deputising for the Operational Risk & Compliance Manager.
- Risk identification and reporting (RCSA): includes quarterly meetings with the business teams on risk status; monthly collating/investigation/recording of incidents and followup checks on completion of mitigating actions; monthly progress of audit treatment actions. Regular and adhoc risk investigation and analysis and activities to raise risk and controls awareness, particularly at team leader level.
- Presenting reports and being an active member of the Operational Risk Committee.
- Meeting attendance to represent operational risk interests at project meetings and Change Advisory Board.
- Controls Group coordination, advising project managers of areas to prepare for and taking an active role in review and challenge of new initiatives.
- Carrying out controlled testing in relation to trading activity, adherence to policies and guidance, investigating and reporting of exceptions as necessary.
- A share of various responsibilities to support the smooth running of both the Operational Risk Committee and the Controls Group, auction compliance duties, policy reviews and adhoc risk analysis as required.
Person specification:

Experience: Evidence of completing risk and control reviews, documenting findings and identifying improvements.

Experience: Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to deal positively with the DMO's internal and external stakeholders (e.g. peers, senior managers, service providers) in a firm, well-reasoned and diplomatic manner.

Experience: Be able to demonstrate successfully planning and coordinating the work of self and others.

Technical: Familiarity with using risk management software and spreadsheets to maintain, manipulate and present risk data.
