Band 5 and 6 Children's Well-being Practitioner (CWP/ CYP)


Full time, 1 year with scope for extension

Salary:
£23, 500 - £30, 500 (depending on qualifications and experience) must have therapy qualification or background)


Our Roots have an exciting and forward-thinking role available within our Specialist Mental Health provision for qualified Children Wellbeing Practitioners, CYP counsellors or CYP CBT Practitioners.

You will be working in Birmingham at Our Roots and provide mental health assessment, care planning and low intensity CBT informed interventions to support children, young people.


This role will support the well-established multi-disciplinary teams and enable you to develop your skill set within this specialist service.

Experience of delivering evidence based low Intensity interventions to children, young people and parent/carers is essential as well as an enthusiasm for working with this client group.


If you are successful you will receive, regular management and clinical supervision, an annual appraisal and fantastic training opportunity within Our Roots.

We are part of the CYP IAPT initiative.

In the wider trust we have an excellent health and well-being support offer to our staff, flexible working as well additional support for working carers.


The key elements of the role are as follows:

  • To undertake assessments with children and young people and with their families.
  • To develop a care plan alongside the service user.
  • To assess and manage on going risks as identified during the assessment, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers. To regularly review risk factors and make changes to the management of them as necessary.
  • To provide a range of clinical interventions relevant to the care of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and have knowledge of evidence based models of practice.
  • To work closely with the rest of the team and to attend the MDT.
  • To provide guidance, advice and consultation to other agencies about the needs of a child.
  • To liaise with the rest of the LWC and Our Roots, adult services, primary care and other agencies as appropriate.
  • To contribute to the induction and training of students and new staff.


Please note we will also consider well trained Children counselors with the experience and training in working with children and they should be willing to undergo further training to suit this role.

£23,500.00-£35,500.00 per year
