Head of Onboarding at Banked:


Part of the AML Operations, you will lead the fulfillment of Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/ KYC/ CDD requirements for customers at on-boarding stage and on an on-going basis.


Reporting directly to Head of Risk, you will be responsible for the build-out of the function and management of onboarding/ AML processes.

The Head of Onboarding will build and manage a small team, ensuring the development and oversight of robust governance and management structures that drive consistent operational execution and ensure reviews are completed within timelines and quality assurance guidelines.


What you'll be doing at Banked:

  • Drive an end-to-end digital AML customer onboarding strategy through the implementation of KYC/KYB that optimises client experience and delivers a best-in-class framework to prevent and detect financial crime
  • Define AML customer onboarding requirements for customer types and geographies
  • Prioritise the AML customer onboarding business requirements, driving delivery of technical solutions by engineering squads
  • Support the completion of compliance monitoring and testing activities, audit reviews, and inspections
  • Collaboration with the operational teams on a daytoday basis by responding to the escalation of operational queries, building controls and processes to support them in their operational tasks as well as empowering them with knowledge, experience, and capability to perform effectively
  • Provide expert AML customer onboardingrelated advice when working with a broad group of stakeholders within the business (product teams, controls, operations) to ensure critical partners are aware of all potential financial crime risk exposure and considerations
  • Deliver AML customer onboarding platform stability and create dashboards and key visualisation views to drive enhanced monitoring and reporting of risk and control performance indicators which supports us in monitoring platform performance effectively
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the firm including business, technology, product management, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, and technology control functions to drive engagement with the financial crime prevention program of work

About you:


  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, AML operations or onboarding of clients in the payments or financial services space
  • Experience in data analytics and presenting complex information around AML and customer onboarding metrics and outcomes to senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced/ scale up environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work together collaboratively with cross functional, globally distributed teams
  • Experience in helping define compliance best practices and balancing these against user journey requirements
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight time frames and under minimum supervision
  • Experience in leading teams in AML and onboarding is an advantage
