Our client is a UK market leading manufacturer, who as a result of some very positive growth need to appoint an ambitious Buyer to join their busy Procurement Team.


Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for purchasing all finished and raw materials from a global supplier base and ensuring that all commodities are purchased within target to ensure cost savings are achieved.


Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Account management of key strategic subcontractors including operational purchasing and performance improvement, contract governance and relationship management across all functions.
  • Vendor management, including sourcing new vendors & quote for items to raise PPV. Resolve conflicts concerning materials or services, coordinates returns and/or repairs of products and action all nonconformance reports and N.P.D changes.
  • Responsibility for procuring appropriate items or services from creating a purchase order to delivery.
  • Continuous improvement of On-Time delivery and quality performance of key suppliers.
  • Benchmarking of key commodities.
  • Participate in compiling company metrics for KPIs.
  • Assist in the implementation of operational procurement, process improvements, the introduction of best practice procurement and supply chain management techniques.

Skills and Experience


It is expected that you shall have experience of buying within a production/manufacturing organisation, possess strong negotiation and cost analysis skills, strong Supplier Management skills and fantastic communication skills.

Must be IT Proficient with MS suite especially Excel & Syspro or equivalent.
