The Job
The Digital function within Aegon's Marketing department sets the digital vision for Aegon UK and creates the strategy to execute that vision.
It drives the user experience (UX) of the digital estate by providing the direction and expertise required to deliver a brilliant, efficient, and effective digital experience across all channels.
We have an opportunity for a Lead UX Designer to join us to lead and manage the UX design for Aegon's digital estate.
You'll play a key role, leading a team of experts in the creation of experiences that enable commercial digitisation of the business.
You'll also ensure that key journeys and changes in our UX layer are tested via the UX Researchers, refined and optimised.
You'll have a strong passion for excellent experience, and you'll articulate the importance of this in a commercial and user-centric way.
You'll be expected to utilise leadership, development, and expert skills in the areas of innovation, ideation, concept design and visioning.
This is a 'player manager' role where you will perform key design tasks as well the managing and ensuring quality output of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team: People manage and motivate your direct reports in the UX Design team, including responsibility for supporting suppliers/contractors who augment the team as required from time to time.
- Rapid prototyping and UX design services: Provision of highquality UX design capabilities provided by your team and wider resources. Includes iterative design, digital journey flow design, wireframes, and visual design execution. Ensuring thorough user testing and refinement during the design lifecycle. Collaborating with UX researchers to create maps highlighting success and pain points in user journeys. Leading the analysis and communication of user feedback to drive changes within sprints and communicating user feedback to the wider sprints teams to drive change effectively.
- Quality control and optimisation: Lead the UX Design Team to comply with the standards for Aegon's digital estate and consult with the UX Manager on the evolution and management of these.
- Triage and manage UX design workload: Identify areas of focus, track, proactively manage and allocate tasks from the UX Design Teams backlog to help support business priorities

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Background in User Experience, Interaction Design & Service Design within Agile ways of working.
- Proven record of using skills and knowledge to facilitate the practice of UX within an organisation.
- Confidence to constructively challenge requirements and creative proposals.
- Solid understanding of industry-standard prototyping and wire-framing software tools. Plus, advanced understanding of digital measurement tools, techniques, reporting and analysis.
- Passionate about user experience, branding and driving value for the customer, able to think on a customer-centric level as well as with commercial imperative.
- Experience facilitating and running workshops. Demonstrable experience of the ability to take teams with you on a journey and influence positive outcomes across all levels, functions and channels.
Desirable but not essential:
- Pension product knowledge e.g. ISAs, LISAs, Stocks and Shares ISAs.
- Experience gained within a Financial Services environment.
