The Opportunity
As a HSE Lead, the main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with the respect to legislation, company policies and client requirements.
The HSE Lead will support a team of advisors to assist in the delivery of the KAEFER UK & Ireland HSE strategy.
Working in collaboration with other members of the team and the wider business to facilitate high performance delivery through successful implementation of processes and systems, in a sustainable manner.
They will contribute and develop the HSE Assurance Plan to deliver high risk audits across the area or division of responsibility; providing advice and recommendations of improvement.
Key duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:- Advise and assist site management in the preparation of safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements for varying projects in line with company and client KPI's
- Providing authoritative guidance on Health and Safety matters to all stakeholders
- Develop HSE Strategy for site alongside HSEQ Director and HSE Discipline Manager, reporting monthly on progress
- Ensure the site and applicable management is aware of applicable legal obligations and notified of changes in legal process
- Work with on site management in the development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of HSE policy and procedures
- Conduct safety and environmental audit and inspections in accordance with the Integrated Management System
- Prepare daily and weekly reports to HSE Discipline Manager and Business Unit General Manager
- Lead/ conduct accident/incident investigations and prepare reports for internal and external purposes
- Owner of site specific HSE documents, responsible for improvement and maintenance in collaboration with client, HSE Discipline Manager and HSEQ Director
The Person
They will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge in hazard assessment and risk reduction methods, as well as strong knowledge of HSE law.
Essential:
- NEBOSH Health and Safety certificate
- NEBOSH Health and Safety Diploma
- Member of IoSH
- Demonstrate experience in a relevant industry
Desirable:
- Environment qualification
