Position Overview:


Maintenance Operatives play a critical role in upholding exceptional health and safety standards within and around our services, assisting service managers in maintaining a secure environment for our residents.

Your role as a Maintenance Operative at Optima Care is to oversee and ensure compliance with regulations required around health and safety.

Optima Care is committed to providing compassionate and secure living environments for our residents.

As the Maintenance Operative, you will work with the Property Team across all sites, managing day-to-day repair and refurbishment projects, including tasks related to health and safety compliance.

Your expertise in health and safety, property repairs, construction, and hands-on trades experience will be pivotal in guiding the team.

A methodical and organized approach is essential to keep all our sites in optimal repair, meeting the high standards expected by staff and service users.

Your proficiency as a skilled multi-trade craftsman will enable you to undertake a diverse range of repairs, maintenance tasks, and projects, contributing to the enhancement and refurbishment of our estate.

Your leadership will also be instrumental in building and working with the Property Team. With your team, you will analyse required work technically and translate it into efficiently executed tasks with high productivity.

Ensuring compliance and other related health and safety tasks are completed in accordance with legislation and law will also fall under your responsibilities.


Required Skills and Experience:


  • Previous experience in a Property Maintenance role or similar is indispensable.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations within a property environment.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in planned and reactive repair/compliance operations, encompassing the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and the physical infrastructure, with a strong focus on health and safety, security, and asset protection.
  • Proven track record in identifying areas for improvement and driving necessary changes to maintain consistently high service standards.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Handson trades experience is a must, enabling you to personally contribute to repair and maintenance tasks.
