Exciting new role - Analytical Chemist - #WestMidlands


One of the leading development and manufacturing companies in the UK and Europe are recruiting Analytical Chemist to join the materials test and evaluation department.

As an Analytical Chemist you will be assessing chemical, physical and hazardous propertiesof materials and blends.


A crucial aspect of this role will involve testing a wide range of raw materials, intermediate compounds and final productsusing various analytical techniques.

This will be an ideal role for an Analytical Chemist with experience in handling hazardous materialsto develop their skills in analytical chemistry.


Key Duties:


  • Managing the daytoday running, planning and operation of the laboratory
  • Maintaining test methods, equipment and facilities, updating safety assessments involving COSHH and Risk assessments
  • Extensive experience in wet chemistry and analysis techniques involving HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR as well has TGA and volumetric analysis techniques
  • Supporting other areas of materials testing and evaluation departments

Requirements:


  • Minimum BSc qualification in Chemistry or another science related degree
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals and raw materials
  • Experience handling COSHH and risk assessments
  • Ability to work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of process specifications and standards
