School Librarian Required for School in Watford

We are currently working with a Secondary School based in Watford who are recruiting for a School Librarian who has first hand experience.


Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we're looking for more high-quality office staff to work with these schools.

Working hours are 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday


About the role:


  • To organize and provide a quiet reading environment for all students
  • Promote reading through extracurricular clubs
  • Provide support to an outstanding level for all years, abilities and qualifications;
  • Contribute to outstanding attainment and progress at all key stages;
  • Play a central role in the Learning Support Department, including contributing to afterschool activities, trips, open days and so on;
  • Make a vital contribution to the efficient running of the Department, including undertaking administrative and other tasks as delegated by the SENDCo;
  • Enhance the quality of Teaching Assistant provision in the Department and wider Academy through sharing resources and good practice and active participation in Continuous Professional Learning;
  • Support the Academy's aims and objectives for teaching and learning;
  • Show flexibility, innovation and intelligence in responding to the needs of the students and Academy as a whole.

The ideal School Librarian will have:

  • Experience of working in a school or public library as a librarian or similar.
  • A real passion for working within an education environment.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Check) registered with the DBS Update Service
