Here at Mountain Healthcare, we are looking for passionate, determined, and resilient individuals to join our amazing team as a Communications Officer.

The Communications Officer will enhance and advance our digital and print communications.

This will include, but will not be limited to, producing, writing, and maintaining social media channels, as well as public relations, design and print support, and other marketing duties.

You will act as digital and brand ambassador within the Mountain Healthcare team.


We are looking for someone who has a good awareness of technological advances within the communications profession, who will actively raise and progress emerging opportunities for innovation.


The focus of the day to day work will be to support the creation, delivery, and evaluation of content across all of our communication channels.

This role is a fixed-term contract for 18 months covering maternity leave.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Contributing to the day to day development and management of digital channels with strategic input from the Communications Manager.
  • Using data and audience insight to inform and improve Mountain's digital presence; monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of our digital channels and other communications. This includes the development of analytical tools and reports to share this information across the organisation.
  • To work with the senior leadership team and Communications manager and colleagues in other teams to develop Mountain's communication strategy.
  • To be a key point of contact for communication and marketing campaigns across the organisation.
  • To be a key point of contact for our website host provider and to be primary digital liaison from the communications team to any associated digital development across the organisation.
  • To support to staff across the organisation on the use of the website. This will include coordination of an approvals process for publishing to the website and intranet.
  • To be part of the day to day management of our social media accounts, and to contribute to regular social media and sector monitoring and reporting. Contributing towards insight gathering to inform communications activity. Advising staff on the use of social media.
  • To contribute to our communications and corporate planning tools; ensuring our content is scheduled in way that is compelling, comprehensive, and avoids overload on any given day.

Essential Skills:


  • Experience in delivering and evaluating communications and marketing activity within a communications team.
  • Experience in writing copy to meet professional standards.
  • Experience in SEO.
  • Day to day delivery of digital channels, including intranet, website, social media, MS Teams.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with senior managers, civil servants, and frontline staff.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with mínimal instruction and on own projects with attention to detail and to agreed timescales.
  • A collaborative team worker who can build positive relationships and work effectively across boundaries and achieve results through others.
