Sunfield Specialist School and Children's Home is located in the beautiful Clent Hills, West Midlands and is part of the Ruskin Mill Trust providing innovative and experiential education, and supports young people years) with complex learning needs, including autism and PDA.Designated Safeguarding Lead (incl. LAC Lead)
40 hrs a week / 52 weeks
Salary:
£34,530 - £41,250
Dependent on qualifications and experience.
We are seeking to appoint a Designated Safeguarding & LAC Lead to become part of Sunfield's Senior Leadership Team and provide support to them, the Director of Schools and Trust Head of Safeguarding.
Ensuring the welfare of all children and young people at Sunfield, contributing to continuous provision improvement whilst being in accordance with statutory and Ofsted/CQC requirements and the vision, and method of Ruskin Mill Trust.
- Experience of working in a Safeguarding role including child protection and safeguarding regulations
- Experience of working with children, young people and vulnerable adults within residential care & education
- Working knowledge of supporting an Ofsted/ CQC inspection
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and policy including, but not limited to, KCSiE and the Children's Act 198
- Strong knowledge of the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of student, children and young people safeguarding concerns
- High level of organisational, time management and problemsolving skills. As well as emotional awareness, intelligence and resilience
- The ability of building effective relationships with children, young people, parents, carers, colleagues and the wider community in promoting the welfare and safeguarding of young people
- A high level of communication skills, with the ability of dealing with confidential and sensitive issues appropriately
- A supportive, motivated and inspired approach to leading through example
