Your future plans
Analysis of meteorological information is crucial and accurate weather forecast plays a key part in determining our success.

As part of our Weather Analysis team, you contribute to our weather forecasting activities on different time scales and for a wide range of European markets.

Furthermore your analysis will support the management of renewables assets and will contribute to estimate market price developments that are more and more driven by weather.

Produce and present an Inhouse weather view to energy traders and analysts covering a range of timescales (daily/weekly/monthly)
Actively communicate latest weather model output and market relevant changes in a timely manner
Highlight how an expected weather pattern could impact renewables (wind, solar and hydropower) on a regional scale
Develop ideas how automated procedures and quantitative analytical tools should be set up
Critically review atmospheric models and largescale teleconnection patterns
Contribute to the various analysis products conducted by a global team of meteorologists and maintain our competitive edge against the market by providing timely and accurate analysis, that will be used by energy traders and analysts
Become an integral part of the wider analyst community that covers all traded commodities at all our locations
Take over challenging projects in order to support the team's activities and to further contribute to the company's success

Your powerful skills

University degree in meteorology or atmospheric science
Profound expertise and experience (at least 12 years) doing synoptical weather forecasts on different timescales for customers in a commercial environment
Good communication skills and ability to explain uncertainty or risks to the forecast
Solid understanding of numerical weather models and their output
Familiarity with renewable generation forecast is essential
Ability to adapt to different types of tasks and the capability to keep a cool head in a pressured environment
Readiness to start working in the early morning hours
Effective team player skills to work in a team of Meteorologists

Advantageous, but not a must

Knowledge and experience of Python, SQL or other programming tools are beneficial
