Rail / Civils ¦ Infrastructure Projects

Regional Office - York (or Barnsley)

(Eastern region)

Site based - Leeds, Yorkshire

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Agent or Senior Site Agent to join our team in the Eastern region supporting the development and delivery of Enhancement projects in a rail major projects division, including construction of a new railway station.

Business Unit


A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works associated with Network rail infrastructure such as various bridge refurbishment and renewals, embankments, stations etc.

The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary rail civils projects up and down the CP6 LNE route ranging in scale and value but often complex and technically challenging.


Existing contracts in the CP6 infrastructure projects framework/contract includes schemes such as bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all and footbridge installations), platform re-gauging / platform extensions etc.


The Role


As Site Agent / Senior Site Agent you will be directly responsible for the daily management of construction / civil engineering activities for an rail projects including new station construction and enhancement works in the Eastern region.


Day to day responsibilities would include:

  • Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:
  • All applicable legislation
  • The Terms and Conditions of the Contract
  • The Contract Health and Safety Plan
  • The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
  • The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan
  • Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
  • Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.
  • The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
  • Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
  • The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager.

Requirements:


To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in a rail / civil engineering environment, ideally on rail station Access for All works or similar station infrastructure and upgrade projects.


  • SMSTS
  • PTS
  • Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
  • Experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in a rail, civil engineering, contracting environment.
