The Child Death Review (CDR) Partners, the Local Authority and wider Intergrated Care Board (ICB) in Southend, Essex and Thurrock (SET) area have pooled their resources to form a single CDR Service


This is a great opportunity for a senior nurse or midwife to lead the child death review team across Essex.


You will work in collaboration with Rapid Response Nurses to fulfil this role across the ICB of SET acting as the ICS lead for the implementation, co-ordination and management of all child death reviews in accordance with Government legislation and Local Safeguarding Children's Board Policies.


The clinical role of the Practitioner will involve all aspects of the multi-agency Joint Agency Response (JAR) minimising any delay through Child Death Review Meetings (CDRM) and supporting the final Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) review.

You will enable the facilitation of working in partnership with agencies (police, coroners, social care) to ensure a co-ordinated approach with the process to support families when their child has died

You will be a member of the child death overview panels and the Strategic Child Death Overview Panels throughout Essex, in the SET area

To ensure Child Death Rapid Response (CDRR) procedures are in place across the county of Essex, Southend and Thurrock.

The clinical role of the Practitioner will involve all aspects of the multi-agency Joint Agency Response (JAR) minimising any delay through Child Death Review Meetings (CDRM) and supporting the final Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) review.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the service delivery will meet the requirements of the 3 stages of Rapid Response in line with the decision of the local Designated Paediatrician for Child Death Review and the declared specifications of the ICS'
