Job description:
A Senior Interaction Designer is an experienced designer who leads with mínimal support and can influence and mentor others.
You will:
- Work with service managers to develop design concepts
- Have lead responsibility across a large service
- Help set direction and embed good practice within teams
- Make important decisions based on research and understand how this research impacts others
- Understand user needs and create interactions across departmental and organisational boundaries
- Lead work within a multidisciplinary team to turn research into usercentred services
- Work with user researchers, business analysts and developers to turn concepts into usercentred services
- Create and rapidly iterate low and highfidelity prototypes to test and communicate ideas
- Support teams and lead the organization to take a design thinking approach
- Highlight opportunities to establish benchmarks and to identify potential areas of improvement
- Take a leading role in growing the design community within DfE and across government
- Collaborate with designers across government to identify and design scalable, crossgovernment design patterns and standards
- Train and mentor other designers
