Place of Work:
Predominantly JGDR Fundraising Team, Broughton, North Lincolnshire, DN20 0BJ


Hours of Work: 37 hours a week (some weekend working as required for events)

Main Purpose of the Job:

To promote our mission, vision and values, ensuring that fundraising activity is implemented and managed across all three regions. To deliver targets and increase income, in line with Central Office and Regional plans and strategies.

To achieve this, the post holder will plan and coordinate fundraising activities and support the recruitment and development of Community Fundraising Assistants across the centre's region, leading on their day-to-day management.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • To contribute to and deliver against annual budgets, targets and plans working alongside the Centre Manager and the Fundraising Manager.
  • Plan and implement exciting and innovative fundraising initiatives with the 3 regions.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Fundraising Manager on joint fundraising targets and planning and maintain excellent communications between the Centre manager and Fundraising/Central Office on fundraising activity.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of national campaigns.
  • Collate quarterly reports on the activity and income from the region and submit in accordance with deadlines.
  • To support and give talks and presentations to local organisations i.e. schools, community groups, WI to increase awareness of and support Jerry Green Dog Rescue and to support the Centre Manager in building local relationships with community groups and local businesses, ensuring all supporters are well taken care of to encourage donor retention and repeat support.
  • To ensure the Community Fundraising Assistants are recruited and inducted to successfully carry out all community activity including but not limited to those listed
  • Develop a packed schedule of fundraising activities and attend internal and external events promoting the work of Jerry Green Dog Rescue, and ensure a consistent programme is delivered across 3 regions.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with potential donors and funders e.g. Local education providers, community groups, corporates and other stakeholders.
  • Identify, source and provide training for the Community Fundraising Assistants to ensure they can effectively deliver key activity.
  • Facilitate the distribution of static collection appliances and ensure continuity of support.
  • Monitor and evaluate the feasibility of activities and report to Fundraising Manager.
  • Make sure all the legal requirements for events and community fundraising are in place and adhere to Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice, Fundraising Regulator, GDPR and insurance requirements.
  • Ensure accurate donor management data is entered on to the Donor flex database and help ensure efficient Centre administration processes are in place.
  • Plan and manage community events, to ensure that local fundraising events, activities and collections etc. run effectively and are well planned, marketed and supported, including supporting the Centre Manager to plan and implement the Centre Summer Show.
  • Prepare and complete Risk Assessments and Health and Safety plans as needed to support all activities.

Communications and Marketing

  • To respond to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc. (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc.
  • Support the Centre Manager/Fundraising Manager with the development of new recruitment strategies to maximise the number of supporters and volunteers taking part in community-based events, education and awareness raising activities.
  • Contribute to newsletters, publications, PR, education and marketing objectives and provide regular content to Central Office for marketing and social media to increase our engagement with adopters, supporters and donors online.
  • Contribute to business, marketing and communications plans to support existing and instigate new cost-effective events and community fundraising initiatives, new services and enterprise initiatives.
  • Support the Marketing Co-Ordinator and Digital Lead to provide information to all stakeholders

Line Management

  • Recruit Community Fundraising Assistants and support them through regular contact, training and advice and ensure activities and events planned by are well
- resourced, effectively organised and volunteers are supported in their role.


  • Identify, set and report on KPI and targets by producing work plans and completing monthly meetings.
  • Provide direct line management of the Community Fundraising Assistants, including but not limited to Performance Management, including 1:2:1's, Annual Leave, Sickness Absence, Disciplinary and Gri
