HR Generalist

Salary - 24k - 26k depending on skill set and experience

Job share or full time position


We have an exciting, new position as a HR Generalist working the role as either, a job share or full time position.


The purpose of the role is to provide a robust HR support function to assist in the delivery of a comprehensive HR service which assists the achievement of business objectives.


KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Assist with provision of a proactive, professional and competent HR support service
  • Under the direction of the HR Business Partner and reference to policies and procedures in place, provision of accurate and timely advice and support to managers and employees
  • Assist with completion of processes, documentation and reporting on time and accurately
  • Effective prioritisation and utilisation of time
  • You will support the team to meet business needs by reviewing and adapting processes to changing requirements and resolving issues arising
  • Assist coordination and take ownership of projects as per objectives and as directed by the HR Business Partner

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Under the direction of the HR Business Partner and with reference to Policies and legislation in place, where able, provide advice and support to managers on employee relations issues. Assist with administration of disciplinary or grievance processes including attending and minuting reviewing and collating documentation where appropriate.
  • Where applicable monitor the workflow to the HR administrator to enable data capture and relevant changes to bonus systems are in place including preparation of salary review letters and processing of pay changes to ensure accuracy of information and timely response to actions required
  • Liaise with managers on recruitment needs ensuring documentation is in place and signed appropriately, schedules are maintained to track progress and coordinate advertising including agency liaison. Where training has been provided, manage and participate in the interview process
  • Working with the HR Business Partner managing communication with the trade union and representatives
  • Ensure all administration is processing swiftly and in line with procedures. Track forms and payroll documentation ensuring accuracy of information submitted and correct signatures are in place as per the authority matrix
  • Liaise with the HR administration team on processing of documentation and resolution of employee queries
  • Liaise with the Training Department to identify/arrange/support training and training courses and learning opportunities
  • Provide reports, spreadsheets and analysis as required including provision of monthly statistics and information on headcount, employee turnover, absence, NOK, recruitment
  • Assist the HR Adviser in updating systems and procedures to reflect business needs or new legislation
  • Update the HR section on the Intranet and Q Pulse and DCS policies and processes
  • Liaise closely with Payroll department

Skills Required:

Qualifications & Managerial Experience

Experience working in a busy HR environment with evidence of providing quality advice and support. Ideally experience of working in the Rail industry.

Technical Skills

Strong PC skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise work and cope under pressure. Team worker, able and willing to work on own initiative. Desire to learn and progress

£24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
