We have an excellent opportunity to join the City of Wolverhampton Council as an Executive Assistant.

We are looking for someone with a strong administration background who is looking for an opportunity to develop into an Executive Assistant post.


Job Purpose and Role:


  • To provide efficient, accurate and confidential executive support and coordination to the Strategic Executive Board (SEB) and where appropriate the wider senior management team including Heads of Service.
  • To support the Executive Officers and Executive Support Manager in creating, delivering and maintaining a proactive frontline service to SEB and stakeholders.
  • The postholder is a key member of the Executive Support Team (EST) and is expected to work flexibly to ensure that high quality administration and Executive Assistant support is always provided, enabling members of the Strategic Executive Board and Heads of Service to function effectively and to provide a positive and efficient image of the Council.
  • The EST operating hours will provide customers with support between 8am to 5.30pm (5pm on Fridays), a rota will be in operation to cover 8am to 9.30am and 4pm to 5.30pm. Occasional out of hours working will be required to support SEB.

Main Duties and Accountabilities:


The post holder should have an understanding and overview of the work of the Strategic Executive Board, including managing all incoming mail, telephone calls, messages and coordinating meetings.

This will enable the post holder to fully support the Strategic Executive Board and to prioritise and manage their own workload in an informed and effective manner.
