Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Co-Ordinator.

Full Time Permanent Contract

40 hours per week

Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pM/Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm

To support the deployment of CI and lean manufacturing across the Blackpool business to ensure the business reaches operational excellence in line with MOS (Magellan Operating Systems) procedures.

This will encompass working with the management team in a manufacturing engineering environment to develop a structure and allow CI to happen through the implementation of the correct measures to ensure benefits are delivered in line with company requirements and to plan.

Training team members in reviewed processes and lean manufacturing methods will also be part of this role.

Responsibilities:

Must maintain knowledge of current lean manufacturing processes and tools and educate critical people within the organisation on suggested approaches to improve the company's machines, products, processes and culture

Lead training to implement identified strategies for improvement including the organising and administration of all CI training.


Support to operational teams to focus on continuous improvement to eliminate short and long-term problems, reduce waste and delivering Right First Time output results.


Use leadership to build commitment and understanding of lean principles, such as lean awareness, six sigma, and Kaizen to accomplish the improvement goals for the organisation.

Assist in the preparation of technical reports, case study documentation and training manuals (SOPs)

Assist in the development of the process model /maps

Assist in the development of project plans and project definitions

To seek out and recommend continuous improvement methods to improve and enhance the operational performance

Capture and publish lessons learnt and best practice from improvement projects

Lead VSM exercises on key areas of the business and support with improvement techniques to discharge project objectives

To take a responsible approach to health, safety and environment risks in relation to your own job role and to control the risks or report them to management as appropriate

Develop and conduct compliance audits and reviews to drive results with the fortitude to ensure change is permanent

Coordinates with related departments and functions to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction

Any other duties as required, commensurate with your job position.
