REED Facilities are actively recruiting on behalf of an established organisation for a permanent Operations Manager.


This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has experience in 3PL depots & of managing a logistics operation.

As Operations Manager your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Overall supervision, coordination and full accountability for day to day operations assigned.
  • Meets and exceeds depot operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Accomplishes depot operations human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations (Objectives 4 Pillars & EDP's); planning, monitoring,appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing remuneration actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves depot operations operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customerservicestandards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; continuous improvement and development/implementation of new business and cost saving activities.
  • Develops depot operations systems by determining product handling, storage requirements and transport requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilisation,inventory management, dispatch and delivery.
  • To be accountable for ensuring relevant company and depot operating metrics are met in line with customer contractual obligations and business requirements.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Ensure that all audits, compliance and legal standards are met and exceeded.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations.
  • Responsible for highlighting and managing any potential quality issues.
  • Completion of necessary process control and quality documented records, in a timely manner.
