Nirvana is a specialist brewery dedicated to high quality alcohol-free craft ales. We're looking for an experienced brewer who has a passion for innovative beers and loves a challenge
This is a key position in the company where you'll be expected to manage the production of the whole Nirvana beer product range, overseeing contract partners, ensuring quality and consistency, and seeking to improve recipes and develop new products.
The role will cover the brewing of 0.5% beers as well as overseeing production of externally brewed beers and any other new products.
You'll be leading the in-house brewing process independently, work on maintaining and improving the equipment and production methods, as well as being an active member of the team, communicating to and working with the wider business.
Responsibilities include:

In-house_
- Responsible for brewing beers inhouse
- Managing the brewhouse and keeping equipment maintained and cleaned
- Liaising with bottlers on product issues, e.g. to understand their processing of our beer or assist with any problems or queries
- Implementing and improving quality control and HACCP processes
- Managing accreditation's such as Soil Association and SALSA
- Communicating with the team and joining regular team meetings
Contract brewing_
- Managing our contractbrews and contract partners
- Responsible for both 0.5% and 0.0% beers
- Communicating our recipes and processes to enable the production of our beer to the same standard
- Monitoring the quality and standard of all products
- Liaising with suppliers of ingredients, packaging etc.
Recipe development_
- Developing and brewing new recipes for 0.5% and 0.0% beers
- Experimenting with innovative ideas, new processes and ingredients
- Developing expertise in production of low and noalcohol brewing and keeping up to date with the technical landscape in this area
Skills and experience required
- Proven experience in commercial brewing
- Brewing qualifications such as General Certificate of Brewing
- Effective communicator
- Flexible and adaptable, handson approach to getting stuck in with anything that needs doing
- Confident problem solver
- Good team player and willingness to get involved in other aspects of the business
- Ability to work independently and be reliable
- Enthusiasm for innovative brewing regardless of ABV
- Positive attitude and passion for our brand
- Creativity and ability to innovate and experiment with new ideas and processes
