London
Full Time Contract - 12 months
Office/Home Hybrid Working

To shape a future where people and societies grow and flourish, we are looking for a Town Planner to join our team.

The objective of this role is to support the Negotiations Team Lead, leading a team to manage the issues raised by Local Authorities.

You will be responsible for working with the Negotiations Team Lead to prepare and implement the engagement strategy.

This will include overseeing the logging, management, progression and reporting of issue resolution, managing governance requirements and overseeing the entering into of agreements.

This includes working with commercial support to ensure the client can confidentially enter into third party agreements
for the Lower Thames Crossing project (LTC).


Your key responsibilities will be:

Working with the Negotiations Team Lead to prepare and implement the engagement strategy
Working with negotiators to identify where agreements are required (Section 106 and others)
Progressing these agreements with the negotiators, legal team and planning team ensuring that the negotiations are kept up to date with the negotiators progress at the working level
To manage and track agreements across the local authorities' stakeholders
Supporting the negotiators by providing integration and issue escalation for issues.
Working with the Project Manager to manage the team resource planning, risk management and reporting.

To provide overarching management of the Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs), including ensuring alignment of provision across authorities and taking PPAs through the internal governance requirements.

Providing overall direction to the documentation of engagement sessions, including ensuring appropriate records are maintained within the organisation CRM database

To co-ordinate with the client on legacy/benefits and the communities' team on commitments to ensure that there the terms of each agreement mechanism are clear and do not conflict - ensuring the local authority stakeholders are also clear.

On top of that, you'll have:
Strong track record of stakeholder management within a large infrastructure project
Proven ability to lead negotiations successfully in challenging environments
Track record of working on commercial issues for infrastructure projects
Extensive experience of forming formal agreements with third parties within established parameters.
Previous demonstrated ability to handle and manage high volumes of varied work to short deadlines.
Demonstrable track record of communicating (verbally and in writing) complex information and negotiating with key statutory and commercial stakeholders.
A proven ability to contribute to and communicate a broader business perspective to align team effort with organisational objectives.

Demonstrable ability to engage and integrate with a broad range of people, both with internal and external stakeholder to achieve common goals.

Transactional knowledge (e.g., negotiating new and non-standard agreements, major amendments to existing agreements) in complex commercial agreements.
