MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious Engineering client, based in County Durham, with their plans for growth and expansion, by recruiting a Design Engineer to join their team.

The Job You'll Do;

  • Creation of AutoCAD 2D and 3D data using internal Design Software.
  • Working on new project designs as well as updating/altering current design projects.
  • Production of System Circuit Schematics (SCS) to customer requirements.
  • Communicate advance information of all design changes to various manufacturing facilities and project management teams.
  • Responsible for the identification, definition, and discrepancies clarification of the product related elements towards its inputting into the various internal systems to secure the correct and ontime realisation of the product.
  • Ensuring that product definition meets customer and internal standards, especially regarding design for manufacture and quality assurance.
  • Support manufacturing (including direct support at overseas manufacturing sites) during early design phases, rampup and mass production, offering technical and engineering solutions to various problems.
  • Support product cost reduction and optimisation activities from early concept phase until EOP by generating proposals and supporting on definitions of new/existing ones.
  • Directly involved in the testing and simulation process, occasionally travelling to manufacturing sites both in the UK and internationally.

About You;

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or extensive work experience in a relevant manufacturing/engineering field.
  • Experience of industry requirements with particular reference to Engineering/Projects and Quality systems (Advantageous).
  • Willingness to travel on occasion to manufacturing sites both in the UK and internationally.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a team as well as independently.
  • Computer literate in MS office.
  • Full driving licence required.
  • Fluent in English language.
