DeepOcean Subsea Services are looking for a Buyer to join our Aberdeen office on a permanent basis.

As a Buyer you will make a substantial contribution to the growth and success of the business through the effective purchase and supply of goods and services to meet specific business requirements.


ROLE
Responsible for the identification, sourcing and purchase of all goods and services in line with the Business Procedures, to deliver best value through the procurement processes and for being the main point of reference within the Business on all matters concerning the supply of these goods and services
Offer valued support, regulation & experience to the business to ensure Best Value is achieved for the Company and its customers through:
Cost reduction
Best working practices
Continuous improvement
Vendor reduction/identification
Sourcing solutions
Establishment of key vendor relationships
Reduction in lead/delivery period

In accordance with the structure and governance of the Company, the position holder is to inform their Line Manager of any matters of importance regarding department or the performance of the Company.

KEY TASKS
Work closely with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders to deliver and improve the procurement service
Ensure all Vendors are sourced, evaluated and selected through the business Vendor Accreditation Programme
Issue of appropriate Invitation to Tender / Request for Quotation, discussing queries, analysing quotations and make recommendation to the appropriate budget holders
Negotiate prices/rates, delivery dates, etc., to provided best value and formally issue Purchase Orders to reflect negotiated Agreements.
Place, amend and progress purchase orders for goods and services in accordance with requirements.
Expedite solutions to problems that arise in relation to delivery, quality, quantity, documentation and cost.
Ensure accuracy of procurement system(s) as applicable.
Explore new product ranges and services in order to maintain competitiveness
Act as the interface between customer and vendor to develop and maintain business relationships
Analyse financial data, identify errors and solve problems regarding complex invoice queries
Manage own workload to ensure purchasing deadlines are met
Undertake additional duties as requested by Department Manager.

All suppliers & sub-contractors engaged are suitably qualified and approved.
Operational delays attributed to procurement issues are zero.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS SPECIFIC TO THE
ROLE
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business Administration is desirable.
Demonstrable experience may be acceptable in lieu of qualification.

DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE SPECIFIC TO THE
ROLE
0-5 years experience in Engineering, Finance, Business or Commercial disciplines.
Procurement experience is an advantage.
Commercial / Technical acumen.
