Geoscience Technical Assistant for our Energy Training Business to be based in Woking.

About the Role:


Main Responsibilities:


  • Provide logístical and HSE support on UK and overseas field classes taking responsibility for the health and safety of the group and the logístical smooth running of the class, allowing instructors to focus on their teaching duties

Support the Senior Geoscientist to:


  • Organize, and where appropriate communicate feedback on course delivery for external instructors as part of an ongoing quality assurance process throughout the year
  • Implement data structure and management of Course Outlines, Duration, Learning Outcomes and Tutor Bio's
  • Participate in a technical review procedure to include course feedback, technical improvement suggestions and logistics review for input into future runs of all courses
  • Work with and support Field Course Delivery Manager on Safety Risk Assessments and other related activities as needed
  • Work with instructors to innovate in the use of graphical and imagery resources in enhancing training materials

Education and Experience:


  • Energy Industry relevant BSc or MSc degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work alongside colleagues and instructors collaboratively to ensure deadlines are met
  • Keen to learn and 'cando' attitude
  • Able to work independently on projects
  • Strong group leadership skills
  • Experience of fieldwork or of similar activities requiring good attention to health and safety outdoors
  • Experience of the management and interpretation of subsurface and surface geological and/or engineering data would be of benefit
  • Structured and methodical approach to work with strong attention to detail
  • First Aid trained, if not training to Level 4 will be provided
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
