Are you a Head of English looking to move to an 'Outstanding' secondary school in Preston? Do you have a proven track record of delivering high academic achievement in English?


If so, we need your help We are looking for a dedicated Head of English to lead a superb team of staff, delivering a high-quality curriculum to pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Head of English Role:


As a Head of English, you will be leading a diverse, forward-thinking English department in the delivery of English lessons to pupils in Key Stages - 5 up to A level.

The school prides itself in its academic performance, so you will need to ensure pupils are engaged and targets are consistently revised, with effective intervention strategies implemented where necessary.

You will also undertake teaching responsibilities, including planning, teaching, marking and assessments.


The Head of English:


To be eligible for this Head of English role, you must have recent experience working as a Head of English at a secondary school.

Ideally, you will hold a middle management qualification, and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of high academic achievement and leadership skills.

You must hold QTS, and be able to show innovation in your planning, focussing on delivering high quality content as well as engaging, creative schemes of work which will enthuse your pupils.
