We're looking for a Public Partnerships Officer to join the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) in a diverse and stimulating role.

You will be part of a small, friendly and dynamic team ensuring NIHR works effectively in partnership with people and communities.


Key responsibilities


The Public Partnerships Officer will report to a Senior Public Involvement Manager, and work closely with the NIHR Deputy Director of Public Partnerships, and Dissemination and Knowledge Mobilisation, Communications and Engagement colleagues, and the rest of the small Public Partnerships team.


  • Coordinate project/s or specific elements of projects, in collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Coordinate information gathering exercises and provide analysis which supports the design and delivery of projects
  • Maintain key databases and/or online records (e.g information about stakeholders) which help the Public Partnerships team to support project and service delivery
  • Support the team to develop and manage stakeholder relationships and contribute to engagement and communications activity
  • Contribute to the development and updating of resources, guidance and tools, including updating of websites
  • Gather and assess suitability of content to be uploaded onto websites
  • Perform assigned website tasks, liaising with website developers where necessary.

Working arrangements

Person Specification:


  • Educated to Alevel standard (or equivalent) or above
  • Experience of the coordination or delivery of projects/ activities which involve a range of different people or organisations
  • Experience of working with public contributors or volunteers, or a demonstrable understanding of the role they play and value they bring to research or in service design or delivery
  • Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to support others and gain cooperation in managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills orally and in writing, including the ability to convey complex material which is tailored to the needs of different audiences
  • Information gathering (e.g. survey design) and analytical skills, with the ability to design effective and proportionate data capture methods and produce reports
  • Commitment to equality diversity and inclusion and an understanding of how it applies to public partnerships, and the work of NIHR
  • Collaborative and inclusive working style, within and across teams and partnerships
  • Able to competently and flexibly employ the various functions of Microsoft/Google packages; especially PowerPoint/Slides, Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, Outlook/Gmail

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 22.5 per week


Salary:
£29,000.00-£30,500.00 per year
