The post holder will be required to work Monday - Friday following a 3 rotating shift pattern of 06:00 hrs - 14:00 hrs, 22:00 hrs - 06:00 hrs and 14:00 hrs - 22:00 hrs.

Job Purpose:


  • To minimise material wastage on shift, to ensure regrind issued is used, to collect data on waste & identify waste causes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To check all machines to ensure regrind is being used.
  • Checking on doser settings
  • Checking that loaders are sucking
  • Checking that materials are transferring from bin to machines.
  • Monitor machines that are due to end during in the next 16 hours & increase regrind settings as required to use the materials issued, ensuring you liaise with Supervisors & technicians when making any changes.
  • Monitor machines that are due to end during in the next 36 hours & allocate a small grinder where appropriate.
  • Monitor PETG regrind driers.
  • Monitor the white boards to ensure regrind is put on as soon as it is available.
  • Clean hopper loader filters on units that have become blocked.
  • Print a balance report & check the schedule to identify machines that are on last box & turn off dosers to save material.
  • Check all waste going to skips & recycle.
  • Categorise waste & weigh to identify waste sources.
  • Investigate all material being sent to recycle & redirect operators to place it onto lanes where possible
  • Assist materials department as directed by management/ supervisor.
  • Comply with quality standards as set by the Company.
  • Ensure work area is clean, tidy and safe both during and at the end of the shift
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to: health and safety, quality and environment management.
  • Any other reasonable tasks requested by management.

Experience & Skills required

  • Plans and organises own work, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner, verbally and in writing, and at all levels within the Company
  • The ability to work on one's own initiative to achieve objectives and taking accountability for work/actions undertaken
  • Highly driven, ensuring that the job is done well and recognising the importance of customer satisfaction in their work.
  • Is able to work effectively with others as part of a team to achieve team objectives
  • Is conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities and has a professional approach to work.

  • Is able to follow instruction to ensure work is completed as required.

  • Ability to undertake duties in every respect as laid out in the job description (further to training if required).

Desirable experience

  • Proven production and materials experience.

£11.56 per hour
