Production Team Leader**
Location:Enstone, Oxfordshire, UK
Contract Type / Shift:
Permanent / **12-hour days / 12-hour nights - 3 weeks rotating.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Team Leader to lead our mill production team in the efficient operation of plant, equipment, and processes from raw material intake to outloading.
You will ensure feed safety, maximize process efficiency, provide service, maintain feed consistency, and ensure a safe working environment within a best-cost framework.
Role Objectives & Responsibilities:
- To lead and supervise the daily operations to ensure compliance with site & company procedures.
- Monitor the production process to ensure optimum throughput.
- Manage the performance of all shift staff daily.
- Identifying and allocating tasks to staff throughout the shifts required
- Supporting the continuous improvement program and creating a culture of engagement across the team
- Communicating with other functions to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Identifying plant problems/issues and liaising with the maintenance team for prompt resolution
- Assisting in completing stock takes and investigating variances.
- Maintaining mill hygiene standards and meeting internal and external audit requirements
- Supporting the maintenance of HACCP systems to company standards
- Monitor KPI's, budgets, costs, and performance assessments for the mill.
- Evaluate internal employee survey scores.
- Assessing continuous improvement though the Personal Development Plan
- Reviewing monthly QA results for feed analysis
- Addressing customer complaints
About you:
- Experience in a supervisory or people management role (essential)
- Previous knowledge / experience of working within a manufacturing environment (essential)
- Familiarity with process control computer systems (essential)
- Effective communication skills (essential)
- Lean management / CI experience (essential)
- Basic Maintenance skills (essential)
- Performant Managements Skills (essential)
- Experience of working in an agricultural and/or animal feed industry (desirable)
