Description
The Trainee Clinical Endoscopist will be required to complete a training programme of approximately 18-24 months duration.

This will include attendance at training courses, completion of practical assessments, JAG training and accreditation by JAG as an independent Endoscopist for both upper GI and lower GI endoscopy procedures.

They will work with the MDT and contribute to the development, management and delivery of a high quality general and specialist mixed GI endoscopy service.

The training includes attendance and completion of the following courses on specified dates throughout the training period:

  • JAG basic skills
  • JAG hands on Therapeutic course
  • Basic Cancer Training
  • Advanced Communication Course
  • National Nurse Endoscopist course
  • Non medical prescribing course
  • NHS Academy leadership Programme
  • Clinical Leadership and Management Development Programme University of Bedfordshire. The post holder will be mentored by a nominated consultant gastroenterologist on a weekly basis and will attend regular supervision sessions.
