Job description
The Department of Informatics is looking to recruit a full-time Senior Programmes Officer (Student Experience) to support the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught Programmes during a maternity cover.
The Senior Programmes Officer provides essential support to students and academics, working as part of the programmes team to ensure that high quality administrative and student support is provided from enrolment to graduation.
Having line management responsibilities for Programme Officers, the role holder is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of programme administration of several courses and ensuring tasks are carried out to a high level of accuracy.
The role includes resolving complex queries and overseeing processes in relation to student engagement, feedback and support systems.The role will involve a varied workload with strong teamwork required to coordinate the cross over of responsibilities to support colleagues during busy periods.
It will provide opportunities to further develop your knowledge of regulations and student engagement and to contribute to professional networks promoting best practice.

This is currently a hybrid role, and the role holder will spend part of their working week on campus and part of the week working remotely.

Fixed term contract for 12 months (maternity cover) from April 2024 to April 2025, full-time post.
Key responsibilities
Co-ordinate the management of day-to-day staff and student enquiries with the Programmes Officers and ensure responses are provided within the appropriate and agreed timeframes, take responsibility for responding directly to more complex enquiries and escalate to line manager when required.
Contribute to the creation, review and implementation of administrative processes in line with College and Faculty deadlines, regulations and guidelines.
Co-ordinate administration for assessment, including exam preparation, marking management and oversight of the Assessment Sub-Board process for confirming student progression and final awards.
Co-ordinate administrative support for department-level academic misconduct and mitigating circumstances procedures, and ensuring appeals outcomes are updated on student records.
Develop and improve service delivery through eliciting and responding to service user feedback, identify and suggest service improvements and implement new ways of working as directed.
Work flexibly as part of a team, supporting others in times of high-volume activity and deputise for the line manager when required.
Responsible for servicing committees as directed by your line manager.
Work with the wider College network to ensure up-to-date and consistent practices are followed when utilising systems e.g.
student records systems and virtual learning environments, to undertake both day-to-day functions and higher-level processes such as reporting and extracting data, ensuring accuracy of data and identifying and resolving issues.
Ensure quality assurance requirements across all processes and student records, ensuring records are accurately maintained in accordance with the agreed retention schedules.
Ensure all Programme Officer duties are carried out professionally, timely, with appropriate confidentiality and sensitivity and maintain up-to-date knowledge of data protection requirements according to GDPR guidelines.
Support the implementation of the College's equality and diversity objectives for all KCL staff and students.
Train and act as an evacuation marshall.
