Description
Due to our continued growth, North Durham Safety Limited are now seeking the services of a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to work and support Clients around the UK on Engineering construction and maintenance projects.
This position will compliment and help grow the existing business based in Consett, County Durham.Your responsibilities (non exhaustive)
Pre - Construction
- Attendance and hosting planning meetings;
- Preparation of relevant documentation in compliance with CDM, includes collating preconstruction information, preparation of construction phase plan, induction material, emergency procedures;
- Vetting Contractor documentation, i.e. RAMS, certificates of competence, certificates of compliance, insurance;
- Preparing a recording structure for the project;
- HSE Advice to the client;
- Preparation of Safe System of Work as required including traffic management, confined space management, work at height;
- Site establishment and setup including welfare arrangements, first aid provision, emergency planning, security etc.
- Construction phase
- Control of access and delivery of Project Induction programme;
- On site auditing and inspection;
- Championing the principles of behavioural safety with all involved with the work (the ability to communicated effectively is a key requirement);
- Carry out and advise/Investigate Incident and Near Miss Investigations as required;
- Delivery of HSE briefings and toolbox talks;
- Provide hands HSE on advice to members within the project.
- Minimum level 3 qualification in Occupational Safety & Health, e.g. NEBOSH, NVQ
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable)
- Degree level Health and Safety qualification (desirable)
- Member of IOSH (desirable)
- Relevant practical H&S experience (minimum 3 years in similar role)
- Be able to demonstrate strong PC skills and conversant with Microsoft packages mainly Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Excellent Communicator at all levels and ability to speak publicly with confidence
- Professional at all times, presentable with attention to detail
- Proactive attitude to HSE matters
- Very good time management skills
- Current clean driver's license
