YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WHAT YOULL DO To scope, identify and shape new and innovative ways to reach and hear people, patients, carers, and supporters, ensuring those who experience health inequalities are proactively approached and included in all the Alliances work.

To provide internal advice, guidance and challenge on equality and engagement issues to support WCA colleagues, directly delivering projects where appropriate or supporting the outsourcing of other activities.

To work collaboratively with Wessex Cancer Alliance and the wider cancer workforce to build organisational culture, capability and capacity in equality and patient involvement.


Key working relationships:

Wessex Cancer Alliance Programme Managers Integrated Care Systems (HIOW and Dorset) Cancer Clinical Leads across Wessex VCSE partners across Hampshire and Dorset WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Lead the Alliance in identifying opportunities to work collaboratively with community partners; proactively seeking and building continuous and meaningful engagement with the public and patients to shape cancer services and improve health.


Lead on and coordinate the delivery of PPI activities, working with programme/project leads to directly deliver some projects and oversee the specification and commissioning of others.

Lead on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion activities including supporting the production of meaningful and impactful Equality Health Impact Assessments that inform service development and improvement.

To succeed in this position, you should have a deep understanding of healthcare disparities, cultural competence, and the social determinants of health.

Your exceptional leadership skills, along with your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, will enable you to inspire change and mobilise teams towards a shared vision of equality in cancer services.
