Workshop Manager Maidenhead

We have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Manager, working for a leading provider of plant hire equipment and support.


Based in Maidenhead, the Workshop Manager is responsible for the efficient running of the workshop, including maximising the availability of plant for hire, allocating and monitoring the workload of the depot fitters, and ensuring that all equipment is maintainedand kept in working order at all times.

You will be responsible for supporting and developing your team to maximise performance, whilst ensuring the health and safety of all employees within the depot workshop.


Your duties will include:


  • Responsible for managing the Operations including workshop, vehicles, yard and mobile fitters for the Maidenhead Depot, covering the South Region.
  • Ensuring the presentation, testing and maintenance of equipment, plant and infrastructure is sustained, through regular quality spot check/inspections.
  • Train, develop and support the existing team whilst ensuring new talent is progressing through the business.
  • Regularly review resources across the team and work closely with the General Manager and our Recruitment partner to ensure the required level of resource is maintained.
  • Ordering and maintaining appropriate stock and managing biannually stock takes efficiently.
  • Develop and encourage a culture of continuous improvement across Depot with clear objectives outlined and deliverable dates for the team.
  • Oversee all H&S and Quality aspects and ensure sufficient policies and procedures are implemented effectively and are adhered to.
  • Conducting Toolbox Talks and training sessions as appropriate.
  • Deliver results in terms of Sales, Budget & KPI's and hold regular 1:1 performance reviews and appraisals to review individuals' performance.
  • Continue to drive a positive culture within the organisation and deliver succession plans to create high performing teams.
  • Collaborate and contribute to strategic objectives for the business.
  • Reporting depot accidents and damages and providing relevant reports as and when required.
  • Positively engage and contribute to groupwide senior leadership team.
  • Managing FORS & ISO Audits and maintaining information and requirements.
  • Proven experience working as in a senior plant mechanic/fitter role with a relevant mechanical qualification or time served.
  • Ability to develop and manage teams within a fastpaced workshop environment.
  • Industry recognized mechanical plant qualification is essential.
  • 5+ years Leadership Experience.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Leads by example.
  • Good IT skills and working knowledge of all Microsoft packages.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to work well under pressure and manage a busy workload.

Salary and package:

Salary of upto £50000.

Company car.

Hours:
Monday to Friday with some flexibility required at certain times.

Holiday allowance:25 days plus bank holidays.
