Description

Butler Rose have been appointed on a sole agency basis to support a FMCG business in the North Oxfordshire area (close to Banbury and Bicester, also offering a hybrid desk).


This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accountant who can play a significant role as part of the senior leadership team in driving through strategic commercial objectives.

This role will also fit with someone's appetite to progress to a FinancialController status within 12 to 18 months' time.


This role is a wide-ranging position and is responsible for the integrity of all financial controls and a key support to the Financial Controller, the role involves working closely with the wider Finance team, all parts of the business including the widerGroup and delivering on-going improvements in the financial control environment (working towards SOX level Control environment).


The Senior Finance Manager is required to support the business through ensuring the robustness and accuracy of financial information, challenging data, investigating issues and delivering improvements in the business.


Skills required

  • Qualified accountant, ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, with minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Operates with unerring integrity and a cando attitude.
  • Previous experience in driving efficiencies and prioritising competing demands.
  • Strong communication skills, with both junior and senior colleagues.
  • Ability to explain financial matters to nonfinancial people.
  • Build relationships, both with the wider Finance team and throughout the business.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly understand and interpret complex information. Excellent attention to detail.
  • Resilient, flexibility, ability to think clearly under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to propose and deliver practical solutions to resolve complex problems that arise.
  • Willingness to 'get hands dirty' to help resolve issues/support team in successful conclusion of task.
  • Willingness to "get stuck in" to a wide range of projects
  • Can interact, advise and challenge senior leadership levels
